Product Description

Lithium Concrete Hardener Product Data Sheet
Product Introduction
Lithium Concrete Hardener (also known as Lithium Sealed Hardener, Lithium Densifier) is a water-based liquid hardener composed primarily of nano-scale lithium silicate materials. It penetrates deeply into the concrete surface (penetration depth up to 3-7mm) and chemically reacts with free calcium ions in the concrete to form insoluble calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H), which fills the capillary pores, creating a dense, hard, dust-proof permanent hardened layer. The product is VOC-free, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic. Treated concrete surfaces remain breathable, form no surface film, and will not peel or yellow .

Performance Characteristics
Deep Penetration: Lithium ions have smaller molecular size than sodium/potassium ions, enabling deeper penetration (up to 7mm) and more complete reaction
Permanent Hardening: Irreversible chemical reaction with concrete, hardness increases over time and with use
Effective Dustproofing: Completely seals concrete capillaries, eliminates floor dusting problems
Enhanced Wear Resistance: Wear resistance increased by 78-133%, significantly improved surface hardness
High Impact Resistance: Impact resistance ≥10-60 Nm, meeting industrial floor requirements
Impermeability Protection: Effectively resists water, oil, and chemical penetration; reduces chloride ion ingress; 24h water absorption reduction ≥80%
Gloss Enhancement: Achieves high-gloss mirror finish when combined with polishing process; gloss improves with traffic and maintenance
Non-Film Forming: No surface coating formed, no risk of peeling, flaking, or yellowing
Breathability: Maintains concrete's breathability, allows moisture vapor to escape, prevents floor sweating
ASR Resistance: Lithium ions effectively inhibit alkali-silica reaction (ASR), extending concrete service life; will not trigger or contribute to surface ASR
Zero VOC: VOC content 0 g/L, meets LEED green building certification requirements
Fast Curing: Traffic ready within 1-4 hours after treatment
Easy Application: One-step application, no scrubbing, no flushing, no caustic wastewater

Scope of Application
Industrial Floors: Warehouses, distribution centers, production workshops, heavy-load forklift aisles, manufacturing plants
Commercial Spaces: Supermarkets, shopping malls, exhibition halls, retail stores, office buildings, banks
Public Facilities: Hospitals, schools, universities, museums, sports arenas, airports, convention centers
Cold Storage/Freezers: Resists freeze-thaw cycle damage
Food Processing Plants: Odorless, non-toxic, easy to clean, USDA accepted
Parking Facilities: Car showrooms, garages, service areas
New/Old Concrete Floors: Suitable for newly poured or existing floor renovation
Emery Aggregate Floors: As surface sealing treatment
Polished Concrete Floors: Enhances surface hardness and gloss, extends polished finish life
Precast Concrete Elements: Dust-proofing treatment

Mechanism of action

The core technology of Lithium Silicate Concrete Hardener lies in the chemical reaction between lithium silicate and free calcium:
1,Penetration: Lithium ions (Li*) have small molecular size (smaller than sodium/potassium ions), enabling deep penetration into concrete capillaries (up to 7mm)
2,Reaction: Li2SiO3 + Ca(OH)2→ CaSiO3 (C-S-H) + 2LiOH  Lithium silicate reacts with calcium hydroxide in concrete to form insoluble calcium silicate (calcium silicate hydrate gel)
3,Filling: The generated C-S-H gel fills capillary pores, densifying the concrete
4,Hardening: Reduced porosity significantly improves surface hardness and wear resistance
5,Continuous Enhancement: Reaction continues over time, performance continuously improves; gloss increases with traffic and maintenance

Advantages over traditional sodium/potassium-based hardeners:
Smaller lithium ions enable deeper penetration
More stable reaction products, no efflorescence
Does not increase alkali content, effectively inhibits ASR risk
Higher surface gloss after treatment
Will not absorb water or contribute to floor sweating

Construction process
Newly Poured/Uncured Concrete Floors
1,Curing Period: Allow concrete to cure for minimum 72 hours, optimally 7 days before application
2,Surface Condition: Surface should be matte dry with no standing water, after power troweling
3,First Application: Apply uniformly with low-pressure sprayer, coverage 0.05-0.10 L/m2 approx. 10-20 m2/L), avoid puddling
4,Penetration Reaction: Keep surface wet for 5-10 minutes; reapply to areas that dry too quickly
5,Remove Excess: Remove excess material with vacuum or mop; do not allow puddling
6,Curing: After drying, proceed with specified curing procedure (e.g., curing compound)
7,Second Application (Optional): For highly absorbent floors, apply second coat

Existing/Cured Concrete Floors
1,Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean surface, remove oil, grease, old coatings, curing compounds that may inhibit penetration
2,Grinding: For polished finish, open grind with metal or resin diamond tools
3,Cleaning: Thorough vacuuming to ensure clean, dry surface
4,Hardener Application: Apply as above method, coverage 0.05-0.10 L/m2, keep wet for 5-10 minutes
5,Remove Excess: Promptly remove excess material to prevent white residue formation
6,Drying: Allow 1-2 hours for natural drying
7,Residue Removal: Remove dried powder residue using stiff broom, power sweeper, or floor scrubbing machine
8,Polishing (Optional): For high gloss, progressive polishing with different grit sizes, or use high-speed burnisher (2000-2200 rpm) for dry polishing

Precautions
DO NOT Dilute:
Product is ready-to-use, do not dilute with water
Application Temperature: 5°C-40°C, concrete temperature not lower than 4℃
Avoid Freezing: Product freezes below 0°C; can be used after thawing and mixing
Protection: Wear protective goggles and gloves during application; avoid skin and eye contact
White Residue: Over-application causing puddling may leave white residue upon drying; must be removed immediately
Ventilation: Do not cover treated area with plastic; use breathable covers if needed
